Does CBD Help With Psoriasis?

Since you can use tinctures topically, and there are a number of balms on the market with CBD in it, does CBD help with psoriasis?

A whole lot of people have reported that CBD balm or topical use of a tincture have eased their symptoms of psoriasis, excema and other skin conditions.

You should bear in mind that the FDA has not evaluated CBD balms or oils for efficacy as a treatment for psoriasis or even as a palliative for relief from psoriasis symptoms. If you have psoriasis, make sure you’re coordinating with a physician to manage it.

But is CBD effective for psoriasis?

Why CBD Could Be Effective For Treating Psoriasis

There’s a certain amount of evidence that CBD could be effective at treating or otherwise relieving symptoms of psoriasis though – again – you need to know that the FDA has hardly evaluated CBD for use at treating it.

This is going to seem like a pointless aside, but let us consider just what psoriasis IS.

Psoriasis is a skin condition, presenting as inflamed, painful and itchy patches of skin in various areas of the body. Psoriasis around the elbows is rather common, though it can manifest itself almost anywhere.

It isn’t pleasant to have, and people who get outbreaks of psoriasis on or around their face find it painful and embarrassing.

It’s an inflammatory process, meaning that something causes these splotches of skin to become irritated.

Now, why CBD for psoriasis appears to have promise for treating psoriasis is the CBD is known to have anti-inflammatory properties. The medical literature to date about CBD indicates that CBD inhibits inflammation by blocking adenosine reuptake, a neurotransmitter that’s part of the process of inflammation and also one of the neurotransmitters involved in pain signals from the body to the brain.

In other words, CBD acts on inflammation, which is – partially – what psoriasis is.

Give Some CBD Balm A Try And See For Yourself

You have to remember that CBD balm, lotion or even topical application of oil has not been approved by the FDA as a treatment for psoriasis, so be aware of that. There are no studies conclusively proving that CBD will immediately cure or ameliorate the discomfort of psoriasis.

However, our customers have mostly reported that it’s very effective at reducing the pain and inflammation when they use CBD balm. Plenty of other people have found likewise when they use CBD balm or lotion, or if they apply CBD oil topically.

Psoriasis and other inflammatory skin conditions aren’t pleasant to live with, and the over-the-counter remedies are not always very effective at doing much. What’s known about CBD is that it effects the inflammatory process in the body, usually arresting it in its tracks as well as providing pain relief, as what science there is indicates that it likely is very effective at curbing inflammation as well as the pain associated with it.

Give some a try, and you may find.
